When I started MEPSCo, my plan was to only concentrate on GAMP documentation in the Manufacturing Automation Procurement space.
As fate would have it, however, I was introduced to a contract manufacturing organization (CMO) in Carlsbad, CA that needed to fill an odd-shaped bottle with a foamy reagent. They also needed two units in less than two months.
Despite the modest scope, this was a very interesting challenge. Immediately, I knew that most automation companies could not meet the timeline nor would they be willing to consider a project this small. Working in a partnership with another engineer whom I had met at a symposium a few months prior, we were able to design, build, and deliver two units to the CMO within the strict timeline.
The fill units worked as intended. In fact, they worked better than requested. Using a custom designed process and nozzle, we were able to improve upon the CMO’s original lab setup and fill just over a liter of foamy reagent in less than the required 60 minutes.
Although it was not my intention to actually build anything within my service offerings, circumstances change like the weather. When the challenge shows up, you rise to it as we did on this project.
I look forward to being challenged again and ready to discuss your small and or large project needs.
